MANILA — Food content creator Ninong Ry shared how he was able to make an eight-dish menu for Noche Buena worth only P1,500.
The online personality and chef shared the eight dishes for Christmas via his newest vlog titled “Mahirap sa 500 pero 1500 Kaya.”
According to Ninong Ry, he shot the video last month November 12, before the Department of Trade and Industry’s controversial suggestion of a P500 Noche Buena budget.
“Ang video na ito na-shoot namin ito bago lumabas ang isyu noong P500 Noche Buena. Pero para lang magbigay ng opinyon doon sa P500 na Noche Buena, kaya nga naging isyu ‘yan kasi alam naman natin na masyado talagang mababa eh,” Ninong Ry said.
“Makikita niyo sa episode na ito na ‘yung P1,500 na gagastusin natin ay makakapagbigay ka ng Noche Buena na may dignidad na puwedeng pagsaluhan ng buong pamilya,” he added.
This year, Ninong Ry once again gave his fans and followers an idea of what to cook this Christmas, which according to him is good for family of four or five.
Aside from chicken hamonado, Ninong Ry also served fish shanghai, buko pie, laing, baked macaroni, tilapia escabeche, beef misono and palitaw.
Last month, Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said a family of four or less can still have a simple Christmas meal with just P500 based on the Department of Trade and Industry Noche Buena price guide.
